The Eastern Temple of Water

Pharen was flying in the cool mornings air heading away from the home of the dragon eggs. It was her job to keep them safe an teach them to fly. Since winter was slowly coming to an end Many of the older dragons had no need to repopulate.
She approuched the top of the temple an lay down on her side giving off a loud rawer. The stars were still in the sky as they reflected off the water surrounded by lillys in the enormous lake below the temple stairs.

Pharen wasnt planing to make this a vacation but she could use a break from working about visiting the others as they grew older. She was looking forward to watching an observing the training habits of the water elements. The element of Water isnt a very easy one to grasp, since it is more relaxed an taming any sort of waters is challenging.

Kai was out for an early flight her body was about the size of a normal sized blue dragon, and Kairi was home asleep after packing up all the previous night. She had thought about working on her Shadow element that Kairi had been teaching her but she wasn't in the mood, she was being pulled to do something else, a different element but she didn't know how to do Water or Fire yet. As her troubled thoughts stopped briefly she swore she had spotted another dragon and doubled back bugling lightly when she spotted Pharen. Floating down to join her Kai nodded a greeting. She could only say a few things out loud so she settled with her thought speak. Hello Pharen. Its nice to see you. She said in her speak. For all truth thought-speak oices were all different but hers didn't have a real tone to it, it was her voice aloud that was of anything. She had a soft musical tone, that reminded one of gems and diamonds, but that was only when she spoke aloud.

Kai emited a happy aura, since she couldn't actually smile. No I didn't, well I wasn't sure of who everyone was at that time. I was more worried about why noone would leave me alone. Kai said.Kai didn't have a special reason for speaking with Pharen, but since she was never around other dragons much just talking with one was alway's enough.

Kai I want you to understand some day I will not be around an you will become a great dragon. Many dragons will envy you as thy do know, but no matter ow great your challange may be you must not allow anything to come between the elements power. Let No one over power you an keep the strong will'd protected from losing hope. Pharen hated talking about stupid words that her father taught her as a youngin but it needed to be said if she never had the words to say it again or lost her trust the time she spent with her would put her own dreams to rest. her vice was numb. She swirled a single claw into the large lake beneath the steps of the temple.

Kai thought the words sounded super cheesy and should have been left alone, but it was the thought that counted. Kaay, Pharen. Kai stretched her neck out to the water and looked down. Her sharp memories remembered what she had looked like as a hatchling, and she realized that the spikes under her chin and in many places were already deadly sharp and hard. The two sharp horns that swept back on her skull were feminine in a way but also equally deadly. yet she was to be bigger? Pharen was about the size of a green so Kai had already surpased that, but the Reds & Blacks were HUGE compared to Pharen, and some of the rarer Pale's were amazing as well.

Pharen stretched her neck from its stiffness. This is the most I've been out an about in the last few centeries I rather enjoy being out in the sun an flying over large vast amounts of lands.

Kai looked at Pharen in surprise. Really? I can't imagine staying hidden away so long...not using my wings...I just couldn't imagine not being able to fly for endless hours! She exclaimed softly flexing her white wings a bit like they had a mind of their own towards flying.

when the horrible wars began most dragons had to either fight,hide, and choose a side. That or be slaughter in the chaos. I had to make sure no dragon betrayed an brought a human by Weyr cave. At that time I had no say in the matter though I wasnt into the whole fighting when I was younger. Im glad things have change for the better for now anyway. I would hate to see such a sight of bloodshed like before. Her voice was cold, as much as she too enjoyed flying her face gave off no expression once so ever.

Pharen climbed down to the edge of the water at the bottom of the temple stairs an took a drink from the water. a few fish swam around an she gulped a few down having a small snack.

Kai looked down at her claws a dreading feeling sinking from fang to tail-tip. Pharen? What if it does happen again? Someday the humans will find out, and their reaction may be worse than that of the old times, even if I was born in this time, I have memories from other dragons passed down to me, mainly my parents. She said her large green eyes a bit sad at the mention of her parents. Lately her mother stayed away from her, like she was a disease, though it was to be expected, she was the rarest dragon out there but Kai couldn't help but feel abandoned at times.

Yes...vaguely, she seems to avoid me. It's as well though....we'd be uncomfortable around each other, her being a black and all....I think it would be weird to be my age and already gaining on her. Kai said reluctantly, it wasn't a bad subject to be on but her mother was just....afriad of her own daughter it just didn't seem right no matter how big she was to get.

Pharen looked up at the sky sitting on her hin legs her wings spred out. someday you may see her but imagine yourself in her possition. the egg you layed became a great white dragon, thats pretty hard to come by seeing how its been years since anyones seen one up until this point. You will just have to give her a bit more time.

True...just other dragons don't understand her either. They say that if i were theirs they would be proud to have laid my egg. You're right I'll just have to give it time. Kai agreed flexing her large bat-like wings to their full huge length before folding them again. Maybe her mother was afraid of her, afraid that she would get to know her daughter and then lose her, or bring back memories of her father whoever he was.

Pharen looked up into the sky her eyes woundering the stars beyound the atmosphere. She thought back to her own ways as an ealy hatchling and fought back the gory battles from the past. I to had a hatchling of my own once. did you know that..?

Kai shook her white head slowly eyes the color of polished emeralds gazing curiously at Pharen. What happened?Who was the father? She asked.

it doesnt matter much now, hes been dead for a very long time, the both of them.Pharen laid down her head resting on her claws her hind legs curled up to her side, her tail off to the right tucking her in comfortably. she continued on. my younge one was taken from me as well as the love of my life..sometimes when i look up to the stars at night i can see them. alot of misfortune has accured back then. I just hope things will only get better from here on out.

I hope so too. Um Pharen, what happens when you come of age to mate? I'm 2 years old in less than 3 weeks. Yet none of the other dragons seem right, they all want to get me but I don't want any of them. Kai said sadly. She was scared about raising her own young almost all the females her age were around this time of year. But her being a white dragon rose up the question of whether the White dragons would no longer be so rare, or that there was only meant to be one at a time.

Her questoning waas reasonable and was a tad challangin to answer since she couldnt place herself in that possition. I cant really help you with all the other dragons wanting you..though its completly your choice. You can choose weather you want a masculan, strong, honorable dragon of any sort...but i do caution you to fallow your feeling based on your own happiness. As for wanting your own young someday, if ever need.. a babysitter i belive humans call them I'll be here for you.
